Tony Ernst describes how his trip to photograph the wildlife of Midway Atoll was interrupted by the March 2011 Pacific Tsunami. He relates his experience during the tsunami itself, and his participation in two days of rescue operations undertaken to help the wildlife affected in its aftermath.

The Pacific Northwest offers many beautiful landscapes, but lighting and precipitation present common obstacles to obtaining that great shot.
